For a long time, I believed a lie. Maybe you’ve believed it too. "Just sacrifice everything now, and someday it’ll all be worth it." Work the long hours. Stay late, avoid the trips, miss the little moments. Tell yourself you'll make up for it later. Stack up the sacrifices, and one day, it’ll all cash out. But here’s the truth: Someday never shows up. The goals move. The promotions don’t slow life down. The success you’re chasing won’t magically rebuild the relationships you ignored along the way. Life doesn’t wait for your goals to line up perfectly. It keeps moving whether you’re ready or not. I've watched people grind for decades—and wake up too late to realize they traded the things that actually mattered for things they thought would eventually fix it. They confused sacrifice with purpose. The answer isn’t to stop working hard. The answer is to stop sacrificing today for a “someday” that never comes. Spend time with your family even when you're tired. Call your old teammate. Take the backpack walks with your kid. Make memories now—not after the season, not after the next raise. Grind, yes. But grind smarter. Set boundaries. Define good enough. Fight to build the life you want, not just the title you want. Because someday isn’t coming to save you. The work you’re putting in matters. But so does the life you’re living while you do it.
Today counts. Make sure you’re showing up for it. Keep the fire burning, Leech Sign up for the Gridiron Warrior 2.0. Launching May 14th.
