The Best Ability

With the start of football season and the launch of the Gridiron Warrior Inseason Program, I’ve been thinking a lot about what really matters in effective in-season training. One of the big ideas we talk about in the course is durability. Call it availability if you want, but it’s basically about giving as much as you can as often as you can. Durability isn’t just about staying uninjured. It’s about training hard enough to handle more, so you can keep giving more when others can’t. If your team isn’t durable, if you don’t build that culture of training hard in-season, then by the end of the year you’ll find yourself pulling back, doing more “light” work, and feeling like you’re easing off the gas. But if you’ve trained them right, if you’ve built them up to a high level, you can keep pushing when other teams can’t. That’s the edge. It takes time and consistency to build that kind of durability. But more than anything, it takes giving your best every single day, whatever that best looks like. That’s a lesson for athletes and for us as coaches, too. Keep the Fire Burning, Leech
