Every Roster, Same Job

Welcome back to another Leech Letter,

For a lot of you, this is week one. The lines are painted. Helmets and shoulder pads are issued. Every team in the country is still undefeated.

I've talked to a handful of Gridiron Warrior Schools this month and no two look the same. Some are loaded with a deep senior class chasing a legacy. Some have a roster full of kids who have never played a snap. Some are all promise and potential, freshman classes built off a strong middle school feeder program.

Different rosters. Same job.

Keep the Fire Burning.

The fire is their love for the game. The joy in the grind. That feeling after a hard day's work that still keeps us coaching it today.

Some of your kids eat, sleep, and breathe football. Others are quietly wondering if they should have waited for basketball season. It doesn't matter which one is standing in front of you. The job is the same. Spark it, then feed it.

That fire only comes from the lessons football teaches. Nothing else in their life is going to hand it to them.

Most of your kids will hang it up after their last game. The fire is the part that goes with them. It shows up in how they work, how they handle a bad day, how they treat the people next to them.

You know that better than anyone. You still feel it. It's why you're standing on a field in that hot August sun. You get it.

Best of luck this season. If you need anything, I'm an email away.

Keep the Fire Burning,

Leech
