Stop guessing who showed up dry. Weigh every athlete before practice and after. The tracker does the math, flags the red zones, and tells you the ounces each kid has to put back before he practices again. Build the roster once. Come back tomorrow, yesterday is still here. Nothing leaves this device.

Same zone math, in a workbook. It now has a tab for every day in August, and the names fill in automatically from the Roster tab, so you type each kid once. The morning recovery check is built right in off the day before, weekends included, so you always know who came in still owing water and who is cleared to go.
These are my lines, not a lab's. Between 1 and 2.5 percent down, a kid is slower and weaker than he should be, whether he admits it or not.
Past 2.5 percent I stop talking about performance. That is heat illness territory: cramps, exhaustion, heat stroke. He is not cleared until the weight comes back, and everything past that line belongs to your athletic trainer, not your strength coach.
The morning check runs itself. When a kid steps on the scale before practice, the board looks back at his last post-practice weight, even if that was Friday and this is Monday. It skips the off days on its own. If he put the weight back, he is Recovered and cleared in. If he is short, it shows you the pounds and the ounces he still owes so he drinks before he steps on the field, not after. He replaces what he lost before he practices again. The board holds him to it.
