High/Low CNS Planner

Consolidate every high-CNS element onto the same days. Keep the low days truly low. Build the week, let the validator catch what quietly overtrains your team.

Why this works

The 48-72 rule

Consolidate the stress

Charlie Francis sorted everything by what it costs the central nervous system. High work and medium work both hammer the CNS. So they ride the same days. The days between stay low.

Medium is the trap. Hard enough to block a full day of recovery. Too soft to build real speed or power. Give it its own day and you get the worst of both. No adaptation, no rest.

Space the High days

High days need 48 to 72 hours apart. The nervous system does not care about your calendar. Two High days back to back is not training. It is digging a hole.

Two to three High days a week. No more. In-season, the game is a High day and so is full-pad practice. Sprinting, blocking and tackling are stress even without a bar. Count them or you overtrain.
